A Systems Approach to Diversity and Inclusion

This workshop looks at diversity and inclusion through the prism of organizational culture, societal norms, implicit biases, behavioral expectations, workplace systems, and personal beliefs. Many companies address each issue individually. We see them as interconnected parts.

Session Purposes

  1. Present the business case for measuring more than head counts.

  2. Describe each component and the role it plays in creating a sustainable inclusion and diversity strategy.

  3. Leverage resources for achieving your D&I goals.

Developing an Inclusive Mindset

Inclusion is more than a word -- it is a mindset. It is synonymous with having an equitable workplace, personal and team success, and dynamic leadership. An inclusive mindset consists of five characteristics which when combined lead to new possibilities, greater creativity, innovative solutions, and increased performance. It is fundamental to building an environment in which people feel safe, engaged, and acknowledged for their contributions.

Session Purposes

  1. Define an inclusive mindset as it applies to the workplace culture, team dynamics, and employee engagement.

  2. Unpack the characteristics of an inclusive mindset.

  3. Provide steps for building an inclusive mindset.

  4. Build a foundation for creating and sustaining an inclusive work environment.
